Tammy Horne - Principal of WellQuest
As Principal of WellQuest Consulting Ltd., I have a long-term strong reputation for balancing rigour with relevance and feasibility. For example, early in my career, I authored one of the first practitioner-focused evaluation guides, Making a Difference: Program Evaluation for Health Promotion, to help make evaluation literature accessible to practitioners and support capacity building.
I have extensive course development and instructional experience, developing many professional learniing processes, from workshops and webinars to one-to-one and small group coaching. For 11 years, I taught Health Promotion Planning and Evaluation for Masters students within and beyond Canada, both face-to-face via e-learning. Many students were adult learners combining part-time studies with full time work.
I have delivered the Canadian Evaluation Society’s (CES) Essential Skills Series and facilitated workshops at CES national conferences., and have achieved CES Credentialed Evaluator (CE) designation.
I consider myself first and foremost a lifelong earner. The first phase of this journey resulted in a Ph.D. in Kinesiology from University of Waterloo (1987) with a social-cognitive psychology focus. I developed keen interests in evaluation, community-focused research, evidence-based planning, and teaching. Since then, I have continued to learn from many others, through research and practice-based experiences.
I am now pursuing a Certificate in Adult and Continuing Education at the University of Alberta, to broaden and deepen my understanding of how we learn. My studies are helping me to both better serve others, as a consultant, and to expand my own personal development through lots of reflection.
I would love to connect witth you.!
